For many children in Columbia County, school isn't just a place to learn—it’s where they get their most reliable meals. When school doors close for the summer, the "hunger gap" begins.
At Columbia County Community Connections (CCCC), our Food4Kids program steps in to bridge that gap. Last year alone, we delivered over 31,000 bags of food to local students. This summer, we need your help to ensure no child goes hungry while school is out.
How You Can Help:
Because our staff is small, we rely on dedicated volunteers to get food directly into the hands of families. As a Summer Distribution Volunteer, you will:
•Host a Pickup Point: Meet families at a designated school parking lot.
•Distribute "Saturday Sacks": Use our provided list to hand out pre-packed bags of nutritious breakfasts, lunches, and snacks.
•Be a Friendly Face: Provide a warm, welcoming experience for families in your community.
The Details:
When: Monday – Thursday, 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM.
Commitment: Just one day a week makes a massive difference!
Location: We have multiple school sites—we’ll match you with a location convenient to your home or work.
