Apparo Academy

Apparo Academy is a faith-based, non-profit, inclusive preschool serving children from 6 weeks to 8 years old with medical and therapeutic needs. We are the only school of our kind within a three-hour radius of Augusta, GA, offering a unique blend of high-quality education, therapy, and nursing services delivered by highly qualified professionals.

Apparo provides students with full-day, inclusive educational experiences. Our students receive up to 3 therapy sessions a day, depending on their needs. Students either get pulled out of the classroom for therapy, or therapists will administer their therapies in their classes. Therapists also collaborate with teachers about accommodations that can be made in the classroom activities to carry over therapy goals during instructional time. This is what is known as a therapeutic education. Our child-centered, developmentally appropriate program fosters collaboration between classroom teachers and multiple therapy disciplines, resulting in a comprehensive, whole-child, therapeutic approach to learning. Our team of qualified teachers is required to have at least an associate's degree or higher. Through our partnership with the Children's Hospital of Georgia, our campus is staffed with a full-time registered nurse, an LPN, and a nurse assistant. This dedicated nursing team plays a vital role in ensuring the health and well-being of all our students, especially those with complex medical conditions. Our highly trained and licensed therapists provide Speech and Language Therapy, Feeding and Swallowing Therapy, Occupational and Sensory Therapy, Physical Therapy, and Community Resource Connections (Social Work Services).
